Suffering, then glory, is the necessary pattern for our lives because this was the pattern of Christ’s life. When we choose joy in the midst of suffering as Jesus did, our faith is revealed and our faith is refined. Because we love and trust Jesus, our confident expectation of sharing in His future glory carries us triumphantly through the greatest of life’s challenges.
