This week in the book of 1 John we discuss real love. Real love is not that we love God, but that He loved us and sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. As we approach Easter, may we reflect on all God has done for us!

This week we will continue in our study in the book of 1 John.

In today’s world, there seems to be two extremes when it comes to false teaching.

On one end, people believe everything they hear, especially through social media, without spending time in God’s word themselves.

On the other end, some people are critical of everything they hear and struggle to give grace to those who are still learning the Scriptures.

Let us approach God’s word with humility and a teachable heart. Especially as we dive into this week’s verses.

This week we continue in our study in the book of 1 John. We are reminded that loving one another is not just in our words, but our actions. How can you show someone love, this week?

This week we continue in our study of 1 John! Chapter 3 begins the theme of God’s love.

I recommend reading Romans chapter 8 along with this week’s text.

John reminds us that we have the Holy Spirit and God‘s word to help us discern false teaching . Chapter 2, concludes by reminding us to remain in Christ!

We are continuing in our mini series on the book of 1 John. Today’s verses cover many concepts of living as a Christ follower. It addresses light versus darkness. It explains our state of sin and how Jesus’ blood covers our sins. It warns us against indulging in sin. It reminds us of the importance of confession. God wants to forgive us! Confession should not be a condemning experience but a healing one. There are SO many important truths in these five verses. I encourage you to continue to study them throughout this week!

We are beginning a mini series on the book of 1 John! This week we read chapter 1 verses 1-4. The author, who is believed to be John, begins with statements similar to the gospel of John. He writes that Jesus was in the beginning and He is the Word of life. He explains that he was an eyewitness of Jesus so his testimony is reliable. In verse 4, he explains his intentions for writing this is that others may know Jesus, and share in their joy! May we share the joy we have with others around us! May we witness to all God has done in our lives!

With Valentine’s Day approaching, let’s talk about hearts! ❤️ God sees our heart! This should be convicting and comforting. Guard your heart! Seek a pure heart! Repent of sin quickly!
