Dr. Christina Villarreal, Executive Leadership Coach and Professor of Psychology at UC Berkeley, has successfully navigated her journey from a small town of 3500 people in Oregon to helping leaders of fast scaling starters overcome challenges faced in Silicon Valley. She shares how she was able to do this through incrementally building her career with a focus on mental flexibility and remaining curious about what makes people different. She also points to the ability that leaders of color, especially those in tech, develop to manage the twists and turns of individual and organizational growth thanks to their diverse backgrounds. Lastly, we touch on the importance of parenthood that has been reinforced during this pandemic.
