Zero 2 Hero

After losing her stepfather to suicide, Ashlee felt a deep need to act on an issue that affects too many lives.

She began bringing people together through events and fundraisers, but when she witnessed how early mental health challenges were arising, Ashlee knew real change had to start sooner, with young people.

That realization led to the creation of zero2hero in 2009. Since then, the organisation has educated, engaged and empowered thousands of young heroes every year.

The CEO cape2cape trek sees participants trek 135kms from WA’S Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse in a 5 day adventure, with every dollar raised goes towards supporting zero2hero’s schools programs and mental health leadership camps.

As well as challenging and inspiring trekkers, the CEO cape2cape provides an opportunity for business leaders to gain an understanding of zero2hero’s mission while further connecting to the cause and others in their community.

Major Hashida's Notebook

In January 1941, the dapper, slightly built Major Hashida arrived at Circular Quay carrying only a small suitcase. It was eleven months before Pearl Harbor and a year before the attack on Sydney Harbour.

Japan was claiming to be neutral in the war. Believing there were no grounds to prevent Hashida from landing, the Army consulted its intelligence section, which proposed that he be 'closely shepherded' with a strict watch on his movements.

He was met by Japanese businessmen and consular officials and made his way around the country, stopping at each major city and gathering pieces of intelligence on everything from Australia's fortifications to its car industry. But what was the true purpose of his mission?
