Growing Up with Gallipoli at ANZAC Cottage 2026 ANZAC Cottage address: 38 Kalgoorlie St, Mt Hawthorn At this year’s Remembrance Day event on Wednesday, November 11,” Growing up With Gallipoli” the Friends of ANZAC Cottage will highlight the experiences of Australian children during the 1914-1918 war and how the distant fighting shaped their lives and activities. All the usual Remembrance Day features at ANZAC Cottage will be there, including the Field of Remembrance to honour our veterans, the story of ANZAC Cottage, and activities for children. The Sunset Service starts at 5 pm with young people involved in the ceremony to help keep the memory of our veterans alive. The Friends of ANZAC Cottage are often questioned about the timing of the Sunset Service on Remembrance Day.  When it is 11 am in France, where the Armistice was signed, it is 6 pm in Perth; hence, the ANZAC Cottage Sunset Service is held between 5 pm and 6 pm.
