This past week has been one for tears, prayers, and questions. Today’s gospel provides a beautiful answer from God that I pray gives we, a people torn and divided, a way forward. We can ask all sorts of questions but ultimately it will always come back to a few crucial facts. This weekend Christ beautifully reminds us of who we are, people beautifully redeemed by Him, and I pray we remember his mercies enough to forgive.
You may not enjoy this homily. I’m at peace with that.
You may believe its political driven. You’d be wrong.
You may think I’ve picked a side. You’d be correct – I’ve chosen mercy because Christ chose me, you, and our neighbors.
Please listen to this homily and join me in praying for forgiveness.
