Strange bedfellows, the Pharisees and Herodians tried hard to trap Jesus with a “gotcha” question. But he trapped them with a question of his own.

“Whose image is on the coin?”

“Caesar’s.”

“Well then, give it back. It’s his. But render to God what's God’s.”

And that’s the thing...we can render to “Caesar" properly only when we render to God properly first.
