There are so many things in this world that want our attention. When something gets our attention we have a decision to make. Do we follow our thoughts on what has captivated us and conform to the patterns of the world around us? The Bible teaches us that we should not conform to the pattern of this world, instead we should be transformed by the renewing of our minds. What does it mean to renew our minds? As believers we must be careful to guard our minds so we don't become like the world.
