Renewal — How Jesus Enables Us to Live the Best Version of Ourselves
Jesus doesn't say to us "You must live better!" He says, by trusting in Me and receiving my Holy Spirit, I enable you to live your best life! The decision to believe and trust Jesus as our Lord and invite His Holy Spirit to fill us, allows Him to make us holy from the inside — to be His light to others.

* We’re not in first-century Palestine and so the language of Jews and Gentiles means something different. Who are the ’Gentiles’ of our world who need the light of Jesus?
* The passage from John’s gospel talked about Jesus’ baptism and the sign of the dove that was the Holy Spirit coming down and remaining on Him. We talk about baptism — often an exciting time to hear someone’s story and pray with them as they wash off the old life in the water and rise up again into the new. How do we understand the importance of the Holy Spirit being in the life of someone who has believed and trusted Jesus.
* If you’re getting this encouragement to ‘be renewed’ you’ll find yourself encouraging others to receive the new life of Jesus. How would you explain how God saves through Jesus, and then continues His work of renewing us by the Holy Spirit. As He is is called the Spirit of Jesus, would it be true to say He is like having Jesus within us?
