  • Harold W. Tennant was a key figure in establishing flight instruction.
  • Nellie Wilhite was the first licensed female pilot in South Dakota.
  • Dakota Airlines was the first full-scale flight facility in Sioux Falls.
  • Renner Field hosted air shows and airplane races until 1935.
