Renos Nicos Spanoudes chats to Kgosi Rampa about the Munsieville Market and Cycle Challenge – Something for everyone on December 3rd.

Munsieville, established in 1905 in the Krugersdorp area, grew out of the informal settlements inhabited by mine labourers on the outskirts of Krugersdorp. Today it boasts an entrepreneurial spirit with a craft industry, a local community work programme centred around food gardens and a tourism association led by local tour operator Kwame Moroeng, who carries the history of Munsieville in his bones.

Partnering with the Cradle of Humankind, The Cradle Tourism Company (TCTC), Mogale City local municipality and the Economic Development arm of Gauteng provincial government, Munsieville will host a market and kids day on December 3rd at the Munsieville Sports Complex from 10:00 – 15:00.

The market, organised by the innovative team from Locrate Markets, supports local crafters and entrepreneurs and there will also be a kiddies soccer tournament, a music festival and business talks. Locrate drives a philosophy of creating an environment where young and aspiring entrepreneurs, creators and innovators can showcase and sell their products, meet other like-minded people, validate original concepts, get tips from established brands, create connections and get the necessary exposure to take their businesses further.

In addition, the public are invited to join in the Cradle to Munsieville Cycle Challenge on the day. All are welcome. The event starts at 11:00 at Biden Bistro in the Cradle of Humankind and follows a route of 19kms ending in Munsieville.
