Repentance gets a bad rap, as it is so often preached without reference to the great goodness that repentance is. Both John the Baptist and Jesus preached repentance, and when they did so, it was accompanied by the fact that the Kingdom of Heaven really was at hand, that God really was drawing close to His people, and that real change was possible. We talk about the great gift of confession, the transformation of repentance, and great good of sharing these things with others.
We talk about many things, but two things that are referenced are here:
the examination of conscience that Fr. John Hardon wrote up: https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/examination-of-conscience-12577
and the Catholic Encyclopedia: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/
We'd also love to hear from you! Feel free to send us an email at [email protected] especially if you have questions or comments. If you've been liking the podcast, please feel free to share it and rate it. If all we've done is facilitate intellectual consumerism rather than opportunities and ammunition for encounters, then that would be pretty sad. But if we've been helping you in living out a missionary life, that would be grand! And we would love to hear about it!
And feel free to subscribe to this podcast as well as share it with others. Our goal is to produce faithful, formative, and conversation-starting content for Catholic disciples of Jesus who are wrestling to be missionary-minded in their normal, everyday lives-- so if that applies to you or a friend of yours, we're hoping to serve you as best as we're able!
