Please join the Project on Prosperity and Development for the launch of the new report, "Achieving Growth and Security in the Northern Triangle of Central America." In the summer of 2014, 70,000 unaccompanied minors (UACs) - mostly from the Northern Triangle: El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala - crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, prompting renewed American interest in Central America and fears of a domestic humanitarian and security crisis on the southern border.

This report provides context for the current epidemic of violence, economic stagnation, and slow growth in the Northern Triangle, as well as some actionable recommendations for both the governments of the Northern Triangle as well as for the new U.S. administration. Our public event will feature keynote remarks by Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) and two panels of experts - the first discussing U.S. involvement in the region, and the second addressing private sector opportunities in the Northern Triangle.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the Smith Richardson Foundation.
