Nick Maxwell captained Australia’s biggest sporting club, the AFL’s Collingwood Football Club to premiership glory in 2010, breaking a 20-year premiership.

But Maxwell’s role in this story is one that may never have been, but for his dogged determination, hard work, and ability to lead, despite not being, in his own words, the most talented of players.

Maxwell’s reputation grew over time, enriched by its tough beginnings, being overlooked and being underestimated.

In this first episode of Reputation Matters, host Clinton Bown chats candidly with Maxwell about his learning through professional sport, and how he’s taken those opportunities and reputation into his business life.
