One of the most important aspects of the game is something called Glyph Hacking. This is when you come upon a portal of any faction, (Enlightened or Resistance) or even a neutral Portal indicated as a "Grey" or "White" Portal. When you "HOLD" the "HACK" button down you will see three options.

Option One is to Hack the Glyph, the other two choices are to Hack the Glyph with a Key, and the other is to Hack Without a Key. We will cover that in more detail in other Resinator Episodes. Once the new screen appears you will see the Glyph pattern, a series of 11 dots. Then a series of patterns will display.

Generally, the level of the Portal determines how many patterns will display. Once the pattern or patterns have displayed a countdown timer will begin followed by a timmer.

The objective is to replicate the pattern or patterns that were displayed. I'm sure everyone has played a memory game of some kind in the past. The more accurate you are and the faster you are completing the pattern will yield more AP (Access Points) when hacking that Portal.

Here is a tip! As a new player, I found it difficult to remember the patterns and I missed a lot of Glyph Hacking opportunities! I wanted to get better but I can't hang out at a portal all day waiting for it to cool down so I can hack it again and get more practice. So, I found some Glyph Hacking Trainer Apps on iOS and Android.

The iOS App I found helpful is called iGlyphTrainer. On Android I actually found 2 apps that were really good, the first is called "Memo Glyph" and the other is called "Glypher" both are great for learning the different Glyph Patterns and to practice on when you are not near a Portal.
