Publisher's Summary:
JFK, a firefighter for the Park City Fire Department, is tired of being razzed about his classy nickname. He's lost weight and even cut back on the swearing and drinking in an effort to fit the image. Still, he believes people never really change at heart. After all, under those muscles that can bench 250, he's still the same guy. When a striking beauty wanders into his kitchen with her two-year sobriety coin, he wonders if he's underestimated himself. A guy like him might just get a girl like her.
Mercy Jewell McGovern recently graduated from college and is in the process of getting her life back on track when she meets JFK. She's immediately attracted to the capable chef running his precision kitchen at a charity event. But on their first date, it's obvious he's used to hanging out with guys, not with a lady. That won't fly for Mercy. Despite her rowdy past, she knows she's worthy of someone who knows how to open a door for her and can sit down to Sunday dinner with her extended family, the Jewells, who could write books on manners.
Time after time, JFK comes to her rescue, but will she be the one to ultimately save him from settling for less than his best?

Perfect title for a great story
Wonderful story! Seeing the growth and change in characters from previous books in this series is a bonus. JFK's transition from "jerk" to thoughtful, caring hunk who struggled to believe he was worth loving was spot on. I suspect JFK is, at least, a composite of real people the author has worked with, which makes him so believable. Loved the fact that it was written by a man who also seems to understand women and didn't make the heroine a fainting ninny. (I often wonder how accurate the male characters are in books written by women.) I was surprised by the description of JFK as a "master chef." Since becoming a master chef requires fairly intensive training, where/when did he earn that certification or was the term used as a description of his ability to cook? More backstory, please. A single "complaint," if you can call it that, this and the other books in this series NEED good audiobook companions for those of us required to commute and multitask. PLEASE!!
Great story, clean romance, more of the same great stuff as the rest of the series
Ok, while JFK was the co-worker we loved to dislike in nearly all the other books of the series, this book truly redeemed him. (Thus the title!) I love how many ways we can see redemption in this story. Mercy and JFK both are redeemed and rescued in this book, and their story is wonderful. I need to reread the rest of the series now.
Clean romance, great story, characters I wish I really knew. I'm glad I took a chance on this. I was intrigued how JFK could be the hero.... Aren't you?
Whoooo!
In all of the previous Park City Fire takes, JFK more than deserves his nickname. But his slow transition has been more than worth it! Daniel Banner/Coleman has everything going for him as a romance writer. The women he writes are strong, intelligent, capable, and flawed. And so are his heroes. He writes men real women want to read about--not uber macho tools, not hyper sensitive metros--strong men who are working through their issues to be the best they can be for the women they love.
