In Part 1 of this conversation, Aaron sits down with longtime friend Noah Mata to unpack the story of his faith and the experiences that shaped his early years as a Christian.

Noah shares about his upbringing, his journey to becoming a Christian, and the years he spent within the same family of churches as Aaron. The conversation explores what drew him toward Jesus, the people and experiences that shaped his faith, and how that journey eventually led him into full-time ministry.

From there, Noah shares about stepping into leadership and eventually helping plant and lead DC Collective in Washington, D.C. reflecting on the opportunities, challenges and lessons that came with trying to build a Christian community in the heart of the US capital.

Along the way, Aaron and Noah reflect on ministry, leadership, identity, calling and how our understanding of what it means to follow Jesus can develop through different seasons of life.

And this is only Part 1.

In Part 2, the conversation moves into some of the significant transitions and reshaping Noah has experienced since that season including changing church traditions, theological convictions, Christian unity across denominations, comedy, advocacy and how he now thinks about Christian mission.

In Episode 2 of RESHAPED, Aaron sits down with longtime friend Ash Cohen to hear the story of his battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and how an experience that took away so much of his physical independence ultimately reshaped his faith, priorities and perspective on life.

Ash shares about growing up in Fiji, his journey with Jesus, marriage and fatherhood, before taking us into the experience of developing Guillain-Barré syndrome and how quickly everyday life changed.

Together, Aaron and Ash discuss the physical, mental and spiritual realities of suffering; the fear, uncertainty, loss of independence and impact on family as well as what it looks like to continue trusting God when circumstances aren't immediately changing.

Ash also reflects on the journey of learning to walk and move again, the milestones and setbacks of recovery, and how the experience reshaped the way he approaches his relationship with God, marriage, fatherhood, gratitude and everyday life.

Ultimately, this is a conversation about faith when God doesn't immediately remove the suffering and what God can form within us through the circumstances we would never have chosen.
