With the re-ignited success of the Resident Evil franchise starting with Resident Evil VII (7) and moving on through the two recent remakes of 2 & 3, it's not surprising that Capcom is leaning into the series pretty heavily. We've recently gotten word of Resident Evil VIII (8) aiming to release in 2021 and continue in more of the style that 7 set forward, followed by a remake of the poster child of the franchise: Resident Evil 4, for release in 2022. This leads to the question, how long does Capcom aim to keep Resident Evil an annual series? Does Resident Evil need to be an annual series?
