Lastly, we discuss how imperialist media highjack "left" aesthetics and music to attack genuine revolutionary movements. Today's guests are Yhamir Chabur, Monisha Ríos, Comrade Libre, and Pedro X. Yhamir is a Colombian activist based in New York City. He is the host of The Bolivarian Flame. Monisha is a Puerto Rican psychologist, social worker, and anti-imperialist veteran of the U.S. Army. Since 2013, she has been investigating the American Psychological Association's 104-year role in the weaponization and militarization of psychology in service to imperialism. Monisha works to expose the psychological warfare component of U.S.-led hybrid warfare, with a special focus on the narratives used to destabilize peoples' movements toward liberation from capitalist-imperialist oppression in Latin America and the Caribbean. Comrade Libre is an Afro-Boricua poet, organizer, and communist based out of Miami, Florida, whose organizing involves moving theory into practice. As a member of the Troika Kollective, they organize in their communities; and as internationalists, they build with movements in the Global South and across Turtle Island. Pedro X is a Boricua nationalist in the diaspora who is involved in the struggle for Puerto Rican independence. Unmasking Imperialism exposes imperialist propaganda in mainstream media.
