Residents raise concerns over district's proposed grade reconfiguration

As Box Elder School District continues exploring how to address aging and overcrowded facilities, which includes a proposal to reconfigure grade levels in schools, several residents raised concerns about the reconfiguration during the public comment period of the April 16 school board meeting. The plan under consideration would move ninth-grade students to high schools and place sixth-eighth grade students in middle schools. The district had proposed a more than 0 million bond to voters that would have funded the construction of new schools to address aging buildings, and would have facilitated reconfiguring the grades, but voters convincingly rejected the bond....
