Resilience, Bounce back from setbacks

Listen Later

Life can teach us lessens every day, when you become international  and conscious to everything we do, say or see. They is much more to learn from life.  I will tell you  story of resilience. I love cycling  a lot, especially enjoying rides with my buddies . I wake up one morning at 430am ready to go and meet with crew then experienced a tyre puncher. It was discouraging i could not join them but still i was faced with an option to got back to bed or fix the tyre and go for a ride. I did the later, and found my courage to go at it alone and eventually found my encouragement within my obstacle. The following day we had a 100km ride really looking forward to participate, wake up early morning to my surprise the tyre was flat, thank God i had a spare tube, put my bike in the car to ride to the meeting place, replaced the tube but it seem the tube was faulty. This is 430am and i am thinking of heading back home but the guys could not let me, got a brand new tube  and we started off. Now my electronic gadgets malfunctioned, i could not get it to start recording my ride ended up using my phone. All these obstacles wanting to get me to quit. Getting frustrated to the point of quitting but, it's never an option to quit at life . Sometime we experience flat tyres in a role, the future looks gloomy from where you are standing but we are not quitters.

The sense of discouragement that came with the tyre punchers and a malfunctioning electronics did a number on me. We rode all the way to Surrey but this became a test of character and my resilience. I remember feeling like a looser in my 1st 35kms almost giving up because the of the support of the team i was carried to our 1st destination  but we still have to go back to complete the 100km. Riding back was even tougher everyone ahead of me, now i have to run my own race, i had to push beyond my physical limit just to be not so far behind. I remember getting out of my head to be present and just focus on the moment. I felt the energy coming back to  me, rode like a possessed man and managed to catch up with the team and finished. Finishing is beautiful, it's fulfilling. Don't focus on the obstacles, on the mountains push through because when you reach your finish, what you went through to get there will be but a memory. BE RESILIENT AND BOUNCE BACK FORM THOSE SETBACKS YOU GOT THIS!
