Nothing is more discouraging than friends who exploit relationships for money or business purposes. When that happens, we must resist the sales pitch and stand firm that friendship isn't about money. In 1 John 2, the Apostle John advises Christians to "resist" the advances of false teachers, and to "stand firm" in the truth of Jesus. Even in our day, false teachers and dangerous heresies abound.
