"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison- that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." (Colossians 4:2-6, ESV)

Our Mission: Reach people, make disciples
When we fail to plan for our money, whether as a church or as a family, we end up spending it carelessly and can end up failing to fund things which are truly important.
Do our calendars represent our priorities?
Most Calendars:
1. Spiritual things have no priority.
God's formula for how best to use our time:
Work 6 days, rest 1 day
The goal of the 1 day of rest (Sabbath), is about enjoying what God has created and who He is and reflecting on what He has already done for us.
6 + 1 = God's design
2. Family has no intentional space.
Too many times, the ones we love the most, have the least influence on how we spend our time.
3. Margin is never considered.
The only way to overcome poor management of our time, is by moving from calendaring by default to calendaring by design.
Mark your Sundays as "occupied".
Corporate worship, rest, and family should be the priority for Sunday.
Nothing should be allowed to steal this day-this is what God commanded.
If you want a deeper walk with the Lord, a stronger marriage, more meaningful relationships with your kids, then you must reject some of the things our world says is important in order to find time for your priorities in life.
Two Priorities for FBC in 2019:
1. A majority of our congregation to read through the New Testament
2. Invite 1 person or 1 family to FBC
