This week we’re talking about the concept of respect. Is this a idea that’s still valued and valuable in today’s society? Back in the 70s and 80s, the concept of earning and/or gaining respect was pretty common. Today, that seems to have shifted more toward being liked as opposed to being respected. Over the last 11+ months, we’ve seen the respect for America and America’s “leader” diminish…does that really matter in today’s society ? Over the last week, we saw Victoria Secret models use racial slurs (albeit while singing a song). Could this signify the lack of respect other groups have for black people in America?
