This episode’s devotionals consist of a talk around respect for the family chain of command and servant leadership. An example from the episode includes a discussion in regards to a husband that desires to be a servant leader and to model his behavior towards his wife after the standard that Our Lord has set. The ultimate standard Christ set was by being a sin sacrifice, the gruesome death on the Cross, for His bride the Church’s salvation and sanctification. Christ’s example of servant leadership is the only example for a Christian husband to follow.

A Christian husband must be willing to give up aspects of his life for his wife’s well being. In return for his willingness to sacrifice for his wife’s well being, therefore, in return a Christian wife must be willing to accept her position within God’s chain of command for the family and respect her husband’s leadership. Furthermore, her respect for husband’s position in God’s chain of command should be motivated by her desire to please Christ. For it is Christ that is at the top of the family structure, and it is Christ that has full control of her life.

The episode ends with a guide towards a practical spiritual exercise by reading Ephesians 5:22-33, praying and meditating on the text. Then ask yourself a question; as a Christian wife do you feel you can respect the man that you are thinking about marrying as the future leader of your life, as well as the future leader of your children lives?
