Christy King’s son, Christopher, was killed in a car crash on July 4, 2020, shortly after he graduated from high school.

On June 12, 2023, Chief Jamie Drawbaugh of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service in Maryland responded to a minor vehicle crash as the mutual aid first due paramedic engine. Moments later, he was interacting with an agitated driver when that driver took off. Chief Drawbaugh was dragged by the vehicle and nearly run over.
