1: Power Vs Performance (V 15-16)

-Melchizedek: power of God that saves completely providing assurance of life eternal

-Levi: human performance that is powerless and void of assurance

2: Why Two Priesthoods? (V 11)

-Melchizedek shows us how good and able God is

-Levi shows us how far we’ve drifted and need God’s rescue

3: Jesus and Melchizedek

V 1: Both are priests and kings

V 2: Both highlight that the path to peace is always righteousness

V 3: Neither come with impressive credentials or prestigious pedigree

Responding to Glory

V 5: Giving out of obligation: law

V 6: Giving out of power and liberty

Worship motivated by flesh asks, “What did I get out of it?”

Worship empowered by God asks, “What can I bring?”
