Nehemiah chapter 8, verse 10, “Then he said to them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to the Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.’”
It is known that depression comes to the human heart when we find ourselves in an actual or perceived negative environment. The hopelessness and incivility of our present course as a society is undoubtedly contributing to the depths of sorrow and addiction that is spreading so rapidly among both young and old in our time. Whole towns and cities are now in crisis.
To the depressed, Jesus offers a joy that wells up from within of which He is the source. He calls all who are weary to come to Him, where you will find the rest that your heart longs for.
It’s time to pray!
