We have been taught that we have to grind it out and that we've gotta work hard. We think we’ve gotta be diligent and “team no sleep.” This whole grind mentality has thrown us into so much fatigue. I want you to know, as I have soon realized in my own life, that rest is indeed the superpower of the resilient.
If you are going to go the distance and be able to accomplish the things that you really want to achieve, you are going to have to put more emphasis on taking care of you. I will tell you, if you learn how to introduce rest into your lifestyle, you'll indeed be resilient and you will achieve in a very powerful way.

Meet Our Guest: Joy Robbins
Joy Pearson Robbins is aA Henderson, North Carolina native. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Wake Forest University and worked as a change management consultant for one of the large consulting firms before obtaining her Master of Arts in Counseling from UNC Charlotte. She is currently a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at UNC-Charlotte. For more than 15 years, Joy has owned a private practice in Union County, North Carolina where she and her team of therapists meet the clinical needs of children, adolescents, and adults. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in the state of North Carolina and enjoys mentoring those in the next generation of providers. In 2022, Joy launched her newest venture, enJOY Wellness Retreats, where she equips women with tools to be more intentional in their self-care practices. She achieved her “bucket list” agenda item last year by facilitating her first wellness retreat in the Caribbean! Joy has been married for 22 years to the love of her life, Phil. They have two sons, Jayden and Brenden.
