Several years ago I was living in the Florida Keys and decided to go fishing in the Bahamas. It was a 1-1/2 hour run from my dock to the place that I fish, but this day the wind picked up significantly and it took nearly 2-1/2 hours to make the same run. The reason for the longer ride was that the seas were raging, particularly in the Gulf Stream, and I had to navigate at slower speeds through the huge waves that were banging and jarring the boat so hard that I could feel it in my teeth on practically every wave. It can be a rough uncomfortable ride and if the wind picks up too much, particularly from the Northeast, it can be a “bear” to safely navigate through it . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/2022/09/restless-souls-2/
