Michelle Shanandoah is the founder of the non-profit organization Rematriation, which is dedicated to uplifting the voices of Indigenous women. Raised in a family of traditional leadership, she carries the values and responsibilities of her Haudenosaunee heritage throughout her life.
Inspired by her grandmothers, who led generations of Oneida Nation land claims, Michelle continues their legacy and passion for rematriating her people’s lands. She is also committed to sharing the truthful history of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and its global influence on modern democracy and women’s rights.
