Can't wait to worship!Resurrection = “hope!” (part 4)Exodus 6:6–8 [NIV] First Cup: “I am the LORD, and I will bring you out form under the yoke of the Egyptians.”o “No more beatings, no more bricks, no more throwing babies in the Nile” (Ray Vanderlaan) Second Cup: “I will free you from being slaves to them” (v. 6)o “Matso…leavened bread represents sin (so when you leave Egypt…leave behind sin)…no leaven in your houses…JESUS makes Matso the picture of HIS body” (Vanderlaan)o “I will take your sin nature away” (Ibid.)o “The meal begins with dipping” Third Cup: “I will redeem you”o “I will clean you up. No going back.” (Ibid.) Fourth Cup: “I will take you as my own people, and I will be your GOD.” (v. 7)o “Marriage language…. Great! The root of the anastasis means “to be born…bring forward…to…leave a place and go elsewhere” (The NAS New Testament Greek Lexicon)1. JESUS can take the least and make them “stand again.” Mark 12:41–44 [***emphasis mine]41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything--all she had to live on."a.
