"The French wholesale marketplace Vestiaire Collective is banning fast fashion items from its website.
Products from this sector will no longer be bought, sold or listed on the platform from this week, Vestiaire Collective announced. As of Black Friday, the company is removing fast fashion brands from its platform. This move is part of the company's three-year mission to tackle waste in fashion. This includes Shein, but also: Asos, Atmosphère, Boohoo, Burton, Coast, Dorothy Perkins, Fashion Nova, Karen Millen, Miss Selfridge, Missguided, Na-Kd, Nasty Gal, Oasis, Pretty Little Things, Topman and Topshop as well as Warehouse.
For years, online business was seen as a growth driver for the German retail sector. However, the industry is now struggling with headwinds - and the important Christmas period is also likely to be difficult for many companies.online orders went through the roof in times of corona. However, the boom in e-commerce has now subsided.
According to a new forecast by the German Retail Association (HDE), e-commerce sales will fall by four per cent in the Christmas period, and the HDE is also predicting a real decline of 4.3 per cent online for 2023. By comparison, sales in the retail sector as a whole (online and bricks-and-mortar) are only expected to fall by four per cent on a price-adjusted basis, according to the HDE.
The Werhahn family business is not resting. After CEO Paolo Dell'Antonio announced his departure in mid-September, Erich Schiffers, head of the cookware and knife manufacturer Zwilling, is now also surprisingly leaving the group. His successor will be management consultant Michael Kamm.

In Germany, Woolworth has been one of the most successful retail companies for several years now, opening more than 100 new stores every year. In Austria, the store network is set to grow to more than 30 locations by the end of 2024.
Until the insolvency of the old Woolworth company in 2009, the company was already represented with locations in Austria.
With its distinctive retail concept, the company sees potential for over 1,500 department stores in Germany and the opportunity to bring the necessary footfall to city centres in order to strengthen them in the long term.
Woolworth employs over 10,000 people, offers 15 different training and further education programmes and takes on around 200 trainees nationwide every year.
ON Running opens second store on 310m2 in London Spitalfields after their successful opening on Regent Street.
Recently the Mall of The Emirates flagship branch closed down and recently reopened with even a Café inside. The store also has a brand new concept of ’boutique’ areas where the latest products are available in an organised manner.
We’re talking a lingerie section (which is brand new to Dubai) as well as beauty, origins, footwear and accessories.

The clothing retail chain C&A is on course for expansion with 100 new shops in the next 3 years.
According to the company, its growth plans are focussed primarily on Romania, Poland and Italy. Further shops are to be opened in Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris and Milan in 2024.
C&A currently operates 1300 shops in 17 countries, almost 400 of which are in Germany. According to the company, it has already modernised two thirds of its stores.

With her, more women have moved into the top management ranks of the fashion company, where 90 per cent of the employees are women and 80 per cent of the shops are already managed by women.
