This podcast explains the foundations of Anchor Modeling, a framework for representing knowledge in a way that is precise, unambiguous, and can accommodate uncertainty. The first article focuses on the posit, a fundamental unit of information that consists of a set of identities, a value, and a temporal determination. This article argues that in order to effectively communicate using posits, we need to agree upon the identities, values, roles, and times involved in a given discussion. The second article builds upon this concept by introducing the assertion, which represents a statement about the confidence in a posit. This allows for the expression of different opinions and levels of uncertainty, demonstrating how Anchor Modeling can capture complex knowledge structures and conflicting perspectives.
