Planning for retirement can feel complicated. So we built a simple way to picture it: think of your money as cars on a three-lane highway.
🟢 The Left Lane — Growth This is the fast lane. It's where your money works hardest to grow over time, using tools like stocks and ETFs. It moves around more, but for money you won't need for many years, that's okay — it has time to recover from bumps along the way.
🔵 The Middle Lane — Steady Income This lane aims for a smoother ride. It uses strategies designed to cushion against market drops while still offering room to grow. Instead of chasing the highest interest payment or dividend, we look at your whole plan each year and decide the smartest place to draw your income from — so a rough year in the market doesn't force a bad decision.
⚪ The Right Lane — Safety This is the slow, protected lane. It holds the money you can't afford to see drop — things like cash, CDs, and annuity options that can provide guaranteed income. This is your "no surprises" money, ready when you need it.
How much goes in each lane? That depends on you — when you'll need the money, how you feel watching the market move, what guaranteed income you already have (like Social Security or a pension), and where you are in your retirement journey. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, which is exactly why we build every plan one-on-one.
We also check in regularly to make sure your lanes still match your life, adjusting as things change.
Curious what your own mix of lanes looks like? We'd love to sit down with you — no pressure, no obligation — and map it out together.
