Hoy vengo a sumergirme en un viaje nostálgico a través de uno de los juegos de lucha más emblemáticos de todos los tiempos: Tekken 3. Permítanme llevarlos de regreso a finales de los años noventa, cuando este juego causó un auténtico furor en las salas de arcade y dejó una huella imborrable en la industria del gaming.
Tekken 3 llegó en el momento perfecto, cuando las salas de arcade estaban en su apogeo y los jugadores ansiosos por probar las últimas novedades en videojuegos. Con su impresionante tecnología gráfica, personajes carismáticos y un sistema de combate fluido y dinámico, Tekken 3 se convirtió rápidamente en un fenómeno. Las largas filas de jugadores esperando su turno para enfrentarse en frenéticos combates era una vista común en los arcades de la época.
Yo personalmente en una ocasión venci a 63 personas que intentaron sacarme de la máquina (cosa que me hace sentir orgulloso hasta hoy jejeje)
La evolución de Tekken continuó con el lanzamiento de Tekken Tag Tournament, un juego que llevó la experiencia de lucha a un nivel completamente nuevo al permitirnos seleccionar a dos personajes y alternar entre ellos durante los combates. Esta innovación revolucionaria agregó una nueva capa estratégica al juego y cautivó a los fanáticos de la franquicia.
Hoy en día, el último título de la serie, simplemente conocido como Tekken 7, sigue siendo un referente en los torneos de gaming y competiciones profesionales..
Aunque ahora podemos disfrutar de Tekken 3 y otros juegos retro en nuestras consolas y emuladores, no puedo dejar de mencionar la diferencia de la experiencia entre jugar en una máquina arcade y usar un mando de consola en casa. Las máquinas arcade tienen una magia especial, una sensación de libertad y fluidez que se experimenta al sostener el joystick y los botones mientras te enfrentas cara a cara con tus oponentes. Está construido como un tanque y eso permite expresarte de forma más libre, pisar los botones con fuerza no es problema y da gusto también.
La presencia física de la máquina, el sonido de los botones y el sonido en particular con los altavoces en la parte alta justo en frente de tus oídos hace que la experiencia sea más intensa y estimulante. No digo que una forma de jugar sea mejor que la otra, sino de apreciar y disfrutar la diversidad de experiencias que cada una ofrece, porque por ejemplo Zelda Ocarina of time, yo particularmente no podría jugarlo en un arcade, necesito mi control de N64, y quizás sea algo de como lo experimente en un principio pero creo que mantener lo genuino de la experiencia hace que por nostalgia o por lo que sea la diversión esté asegurada y sea más fiel la experiencia.

Today I come to immerse myself in a nostalgic journey through one of the most iconic fighting games of all time: Tekken 3. Let me take you back to the late nineties, when this game caused a real furor in the arcades and left an indelible mark on the gaming industry.
Tekken 3 came at the perfect time, when arcades were at their peak and gamers were eager to try out the latest in video games. With its impressive graphics technology, charismatic characters and a fluid and dynamic combat system, Tekken 3 quickly became a phenomenon. Long lines of players waiting their turn to engage in frantic combat was a common sight in arcades at the time.
I personally once beat 63 people trying to get me out of the machine (something I'm proud of to this day hehehe).
The evolution of Tekken continued with the release of Tekken Tag Tournament, a game that took the fighting experience to a whole new level by allowing us to select two characters and switch between them during fights. This groundbreaking innovation added a new strategic layer to the game and captivated fans of the franchise.
Today, the latest title in the series, simply known as Tekken 7, remains a benchmark in gaming tournaments and professional competitions.
Although we can now enjoy Tekken 3 and other retro games on our consoles and emulators, I can't help but mention the difference in experience between playing on an arcade machine and using a console controller at home. Arcade machines have a special magic to them, a sense of freedom and fluidity that you experience when holding the joystick and buttons while going head to head with your opponents. It's built like a tank and that allows you to express yourself more freely, stomping the buttons hard is no problem and it feels good too.
The physical presence of the machine, the sound of the buttons and the sound in particular with the speakers at the top right in front of your ears makes the experience more intense and stimulating. I'm not saying that one way of playing is better than the other, but to appreciate and enjoy the diversity of experiences that each one offers, because for example Zelda Ocarina of time, I particularly could not play it in an arcade, I need my N64 controller, and maybe it's something of how I experienced it at first but I think that keeping the genuine experience makes that for nostalgia or whatever the fun is assured and the experience is more faithful.
