Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams have returned to Earth after a significantly extended nine-month mission in space. Their journey back in a SpaceX capsule concluded with a splashdown off the Florida coast. Initially scheduled for a short eight-day test flight on Boeing's Starliner, their mission was prolonged due to technical issues with that spacecraft. Subsequently, they transferred to the International Space Station via a SpaceX flight and utilized another SpaceX capsule for their eventual return, having conducted numerous experiments and spacewalks during their extended stay.
