Because of a last-minute scheduling conflict with my original guest this week, I’ve decided to try something different on this week’s podcast episode, interviewing myself. The Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist best known for his monumental novel, In Search of Lost Time, published in seven parts between 1913 and 1927. He is considered by critics and writers to be one of the most influential authors of the 20th century. Proust believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature, so I thought I’d give it a go.
