This chapter is about "the Beast" who is also known as the "Antichrist." He will come up out os the sea and will come as an immitation of Jesus Christ. The antichrist is also called the son of perdition (2 Thessalonians 2:3), as was Judas (John 17:12). The beast is not an ordinary man. he is called the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit (Revelation 11:7, 17:8).
