Revelation 1 (ESV)

Andrew and Edwin recognize Revelation is a series of visions, full of descriptive images. They discuss the temptation to try to find some specific meaning behind every little detail. However, they not when something really needs to be explained, the book gives explanation. We do not need to ferret out some secret meaning to every part of the visions. Some parts are stage dressing. Some parts merely fill out the scene of the vision. As you read, pay attention to when John, Jesus, or an angelic being give explanation.
