Mat Barber Kennedy is a painter who uses primarily watercolour. He represents daily life through depictions of aging machines, tools, and buildings that are constructed in layers, adapting over generations and decaying in pieces. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and of The American Impressionists Society. In 2008 he was awarded the Turner Medal in London.
