In dieser Folge des Revell Podcast sprechen wir mit Alexander Kosyra (Alexanders Homepage Kosymo.de), dem das Anmalen und Zusammenbauen seiner Bausätze nicht ausgereicht hat.
Alex fügt er dem Bauen noch das Bohren von mikrofeinen Löchern und das Einsetzen sowie Ankleben von hunderten bis 1000en von Lichtleitern hinzu.
In den folgenden 2 Stunden erzählt er, wie er zu dieser zeitintensiven Modifizierung kam und wie er seine Modelle damit signifikant aufwertet.

Kindheitserlebnisse: Alexander Kosyra erzählt, wie er schon als Kind ein Modellbauset geschenkt bekam, das sein Interesse jedoch noch gar nicht weckte. Erst Jahrzehnte später im Erwachsenenalter, half er seinem Onkel bei der Modifizierung eines Modellhubschraubers und entdeckte so relativ spät seine Begeisterung für den Modellbau
Spezialisierung auf Science Fiction: Seine Vorliebe gilt dem Science-Fiction-Genre, motiviert durch seine Begeisterung für Star Wars und andere Science-Fiction-Fanchises
Erste Experimente mit Beleuchtung: Die Idee, Modelle mit LEDs und Lichtleitern zu beleuchten, entstand spontan und wurde zu einer Leidenschaft (00:01:55).
Lernprozess: Kosymo hatte anfangs kaum Kenntnisse über Elektronik. Sein Wissen baute er durch Selbststudium und Experimente aus (00:03:08).
Inspiration und Wettbewerb: Die Teilnahme an einer Modellbauveranstaltung motivierte ihn, seine Fähigkeiten weiterzuentwickeln und seine Werke auszustellen (00:05:24).
Werkzeug und Materialien: Alex erklärt, welche Werkzeuge und Materialien für den beleuchteten Modellbau notwendig sind, wie z.B. spezielle Kleber und Lichtleiter (00:17:16).
Technische Herausforderungen: Kosymo erläutert, wie er komplexe Beleuchtungseffekte und Bewegungen in seinen Modellen umsetzt, z.B. durch den Einsatz von Ringmotoren und Mechanik (00:21:10).
Innovationsdrang: Trotz der bereits erreichten Komplexität in seinen Projekten sucht Alex stets nach neuen Technologien und Methoden, um seine Modelle noch realistischer zu gestalten (00:32:56).
Familienbindung: Interessant ist auch die Einbindung seines Sohnes in das Hobby, was zeigt, wie Modellbau Generationen verbinden kann (00:47:19).
Persönliche Entspannung: Kosymo beschreibt, wie das detaillierte Arbeiten am Modellbau ihm hilft, von der Arbeit abzuschalten und sich zu entspannen (00:54:31).
Zeitaufwand (00:56:45): Trotz des hohen Zeitaufwands ist es möglich, mehrere Projekte innerhalb eines Jahres zu realisieren, abhängig von der Komplexität der Modelle.
Innovative Lösungen (01:05:51): Nutzung von Lichtleitern nicht nur intern, sondern auch extern, um spezifische Effekte zu erzielen, z.B. beleuchtete Antennen, Triebwerke oder Explosionen.
Wartung und Reparatur (01:14:28): Die Notwendigkeit, Modelle für Wartung und Reparatur zu öffnen, unterstreicht die Bedeutung einer durchdachten Konstruktion.
Teilen von Wissen und Techniken (01:48:27): Der Austausch in der Community und das Lernen von anderen sind wertvoll, auch wenn nicht alle Details geteilt werden.
