One of the great modern heresies is that you come to Mass to be entertained. No! You come to the Mass to worship. The Mass is, in its essence, a sacrifice. It demands a reverence on our part that is other-worldly. Worship is a response to God's work in our lives. We go to Mass not be "get something out of it," but to give ourselves totally to God.
