In small-town Alabama, Reverend Willie Maxwell's wife is violently killed and left on the side of a rural highway. The Reverend is immediately suspected, and authorities believe that the case is open and shut. But with the help of a former senator, Maxwell is acquitted of all charges. And the payout is substantial. But when the rest of Willie's family start to die one by one under suspicious circumstances, the reverend is thought to be the prime suspect.
