The story centers on Karen, a young woman recovering from a recent traumatic event involving a car accident that killed her husband. Isolated and emotionally fragile, she begins working again as a portrait photographer, trying to rebuild her life in quiet solitude.

But strange things begin happening with her photographs. Faces in the pictures are wrong—slightly off, like they’re mirroring people she doesn’t know. Or worse, her own face appears in the background of photos she didn’t take. At first, she chalks it up to stress or faulty equipment.
