The west was a cold and unforgiving landscape and so too were the outlaws that inhabited it. In the original film Django, an ex union soldier goes back to a town filled with corruption to murder the major that killed his wife. A film that for everything good about it, has something weird to it whether its the great theme song and character design, to the crazy motives and fumbling of an ending that we assume was supposed to be "bad ass" but felt kind of silly. Either way, this is apparently a classic in western films and that helps because, "I got all the help I need".
