The picture has a great deal of physical humor, and the director deserves praise for making tense moments funny. The most subtle topics explored are bullying, abuse, social media fixation, public affirmation, body image problems, and teenage infatuation. Eddie and Connor play the gentleman attempting to save an intoxicated girl in a totally separate plot. This subplot has a great ending and is among the tightest and funniest. Certain characters—who can be viewed as ethically ambiguous—go through an arc as they come to understand the repercussions of their choices. Seeing how morally ambiguous persons are allowed to be themselves without having to conform to political correctness is fascinating.
