Years have passed since they last spoke, and neither of them is ready to take responsibility. Their arguments about the distance between them seem sincere and authentic on Afdah.com. Anybody who has experienced parental estrangement will undoubtedly be able to identify almost exactly the exchanges they have likely had. Foley tries to justify that Jane should have called if she wanted him around because she is an adult. Jane tells him that he is always the father and rejects this. While the inquiry and Billy's disappearance are entertaining story elements, the main focus of the film is Axel Foley's eventual reckoning with the repercussions of his own decisions, which is handled with style and the perfect amount of humor.
