Results With Reason is now Revolution 2.0™, “A Booster Shot.” I am excited to share this long-planned move with you. Results With Reason laid out key thoughts and convictions; Revolution 2.0 will put them into practice.

For the next 10 minutes, we will unpack this this transition--this rebranding--and go over what it means to all of us.

The Revolution of 1776, Revolution 1.0, was based on the Declaration of Independence, specifically the “self-evident” truths “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” We have forgotten how utterly revolutionary these principles were in 1776. Until the late 20th century, democracy alone was rare and generally short-lived.

These radical principles were clearly a statement of direction; there would never have been an America in the first if the Founders had insisted on full acceptance of these principles from the beginning. With numerous ups and downs, deep embarrassments and moments of intense pride, and at great cost to our country in terms of time, treasure and blood, we have steadily advanced that fantastic, breakthrough vision for ourselves and much of the world. Along the way, and by no coincidence, these principles created what is today the world’s most diverse nation, and the strongest and most financially successful one the world has ever seen.

As the inheritors, the beneficiaries, of that legacy of initially dangerously radical principles, benefitting from the ongoing supremely hard work of fulfilling the promise of those quantum leap principles, we have the happy responsibility of standing up for those principles. We have the happy task of continuing to build on that unique and powerful legacy. Revolution 1.0 needs a booster shot of renewed belief in the founding principles, and a clear-eyed recognition of how far we have come. And a plan for continuing to forge ahead. That’s the mission of Revolution 2.0™, “A Booster Shot.”

Here are some of the principles that we believe in at Revolution 2.0™:

Common Goals. No matter how controversial the topic, among clear thinking men and women of good will, key, underlying common goals can be found. I still have a $100 bill to be given to anyone who can successfully challenge that principle.
Results, i.e., achieving one or more of the common goals, are dramatically more important than making your side right, and the other side wrong.
Issues not labels. Declaring yourself to be this label and declaring (accusing) the other person or group to be another label, is a recipe for failure. Unless endless shouting and typing matches are considered a positive result.
Doing right not being right. This is a stark choice. We, you and I, cannot ever do the right thing if we are focused on being right. Being right means making the other person wrong; the results are always negative.
Personal Responsibility, not government responsibility. It always comes down to us, you and me. It is never “them.” It is our responsibility, not “theirs” or “them”. And pointing to government to be responsible is just another way of saying that “they” are responsible.
