Under slutet av 1900-talet och in på 2000-talet levde många av världens auktoritära regimer farligt. Fredliga revolutioner störtade kommunistiska diktaturer i Öst- och centraleuropa och inte långt senare tvingades förtryckande kleptokrater bort från makten i länder som Ukraina, Georgien och Egypten. Men sen några år tillbaka har massiva folkliga resningar mot diktaturer börjat misslyckas i allt högre grad. 

I det här avsnittet går vi igenom revolutionens historia, varför diktatorer som Aleksandr Lukasjenko i Belarus har blivit bättre på att mota demokratiuppror i grinden och om revolutioner verkligen leder till något bättre i slutändan.
