Revolution of our times

For many years, Hong Kongers have fought for freedom and democracy, but in vain. In 2019, an amendment to the Extradition Act is being met with fierce protest, turning Hong Kong into a battleground of opposition to Chinese authoritarianism. The documentary shows the point of view of seven groups of protesters and links their stories into a grand narrative chronicling the insurrectionary movement.

Composed of interviews and images filmed by anonymous people, this documentary, censored in China and Hong Kong, takes its name from the slogan often used during demonstrations "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our time". A slogan declared illegal by Hong Kong's High Court.
